Define what each map set should do

Mapswitch selects between calibration variants within software developed for that purpose. Each variant needs a defined use and must suit the installed hardware and intended fuel. Switching maps cannot make an unsuitable vehicle configuration compatible.

Agree on the variants and controls first

Tell us which map sets you need, how they should differ and how you would like to select them in the vehicle. The number of variants, switching method and any indication depend on the ECU and software version. We confirm these details for your order rather than assume a particular button layout or universal solution.

What to include in your enquiry

Send the unmodified source file, full ECU identification and flash-tool details. Include the hardware specification, fuel and the purpose of each variant. Tell us about any existing software modifications.

  • Vehicle, engine and ECU hardware/software identification
  • Original file, tool and reading protocol
  • Hardware changes and fuel for each variant
  • Required map sets, controls and intended use

Development and vehicle checks

Mapswitch is an individual development service. Contact us to agree on scope, required measurements and processing time. After writing the file, check each agreed variant and the switching behaviour at the vehicle. Identify the active map set in any measurements you submit.

Include the engine and transmission configuration

For modified hardware or torque management, describe the complete setup in your enquiry. ECU and TCU software need to work together. Mapswitch is a separate function and is not automatically included in a Stage 1, Stage 2 or TCU order.

Questions about this service

Do you offer Mapswitch files?

Yes. ECU-Tuningfiles.com / SL Performance develops Mapswitch files for the supported ECU variants listed on this page. Send the software identification, hardware specification and required map sets to discuss your file.

Can I switch maps using existing vehicle buttons?

The available controls depend on the ECU and software version. Describe your preferred method; the development team will confirm what can be implemented for your software.
