From original file to a defined order
Read and identify the ECU using a supported tool and protocol. Upload the unchanged file with software identification, hardware, fuel and requested work. Confirm Slave-to-Master binding before creating the first job.
Stage 1 for suitable stock hardware starts at the current base price of €100.00 / 1 Credit, including VMax Off. Stage 2, TCU and additional options have separate prices. All prices are net plus statutory VAT; the confirmed portal order applies.
Download the assigned version, write according to tool instructions and check diagnosis and relevant measurements. Document the version and operating conditions when requesting a revision. Processing time depends on the data, scope and current workload.
A useful chiptuning file service connects the work at the vehicle with the work on its software. The workshop knows the customer's requirements, the installed parts and any existing faults. Development needs that information to assess the original data and agree a suitable scope. ECU-Tuningfiles and SL Performance carry out their own file development; the portal gives the resulting exchange a single reference rather than scattering it across unrelated messages.
That division of work is especially useful when several technicians handle a vehicle. The person reading the ECU can record its identification, another technician can document the hardware, and the person writing the finished file can see which version belongs to the job. A clear handover reduces uncertainty without pretending that access to software replaces diagnosis or workshop competence.
Describe what the customer expects in normal use, not just the name of a stage. A request for stronger mid-range response on stock hardware is different from a calibration for an upgraded turbocharger. If the project also involves transmission software, identify the TCU and explain how the engine configuration has changed. Development can then separate the engine work, transmission work and optional functions before the order is confirmed.
Be equally clear about previous software. If the vehicle arrived with an unknown tune, say so and keep the first read unchanged. If the tool supplies a virtual read, identify it as such. Information that appears minor at the counter can explain why an otherwise familiar ECU needs a closer file check.
The first delivered file is part of an ongoing technical record. Keep it under its original filename or retain a clear link to the delivered filename when using your own workshop naming system. Record the version actually written, since a later discussion is only useful if everyone is assessing the same calibration. Changes made elsewhere after delivery also need to be declared.
When feedback is required, describe a reproducible operating condition and provide the agreed raw measurements. Development can review a specific question more effectively than a collection of unrelated screenshots. The workshop can then check whether the next assigned revision addresses the reported behaviour, while retaining the original software and earlier versions separately.
For an unfamiliar platform, discuss tool compatibility and the requested work before promising the customer a particular result. The published service overview and vehicle figures help structure that conversation, but the actual ECU identification and software remain decisive. This is also the right time to ask about Mapswitch, DAMOS or a MapPack rather than assuming those requests are included in a standard engine file. Confirm the appropriate credit service through the current price list and portal order.
